Two new cards

I have some problems with google chrome so i had to go back to internet explorer to edit my post.

Google chrome doesn't let me post on my blog and i can't even open my mail on yahoo!

I hope this time it works.

Two cards, one for mother's day and the other one could be for a birthday.

I tried to reproduce the card from a mag but it didn't turn out the same.

I got the stamps free from a mag as well.

The template for the dress was in a mag but i found it difficult to pleat it, they didn't explain properly.

And i forgot to put the ribbon!!

I can't believe this is the 3rd time i am trying to post this message!

I was saying i haven't been much on my blog because i was so busy cleaning my home!

My daughter in law is coming tomorrow to stay with us for a bit until they have enough saving to move out and find a new place.

I can't wait to see her!

Anyway, here is my card.

We had to swap tea, so i made four pockets inside.

The top of the tea pot opens and it says, "Tea time".

I also made a vintage tag for her.

I am not going to be as long as before in case it's not posted again, i am getting annoyed!

Can't wait for tomorrow!

I've made a palace for my daughter in law, i just hope she likes it, lol

Oh and i have received her card but i can't take picture as my son took the camera. I hope i will be able to post a few pictures of their wedding.

Neck ties into mobile phone covers

And here they are.

They are both 100% silk, very soft to the touch.

One is blue/purple and the other one is dark blue with some cute ducks.

They close by sliding the top under a thingy ( no idea what it's called) and it stays closed with the button stuck under...or is it over?

Then i've added some ribbon at the bottom and because i made a mistake on the duck one, i decided to sew a button on the bottom left corner to hide it so i thought why not put the same one on the purple cover as well.

My favourite is the one with the ducks.

They are very roomy and could easily accommodate a camera or Blackberry. It could even serve as a purse.

Lucky i got some buttons from the charity shop!

Some new projects

I've been making some new mobile phone covers and a snuggle bed for Chester.

All from recycled fabric

At the moment i am making some mobile phone/ camera covers with some men's ties and i will post it when finished.

As soon as i put the bed in his cage he jumped for joy! lol and went straight to lie down in it, i can say he loves it.

I made the flower with some lace. The charm is from a recycled necklace.

Wow what a nice surprise today when i found out i was nominated as "Follower of the Month"

Most of the time you don't need to understand the language and there is always google to translate.

I've participated in a few swaps and they are always fun. Most of the time you get extra goodies from your partner and the swaps are not that complicated.

Another one of Sugar Nellie.

We got all these stamps over a year ago and rarely inked them.

The papers are called "Sweet Wishes" and came free with a magazine.

The ribbon is from Lindsay's candy.

The sentiment is free as well from a mag.

I've decorated inside as well and the layout is about the same as the laid back dude card.

She says she looks a bit nerdy with her glasses, and that she will wear them only in class not on the way to school. I had to explain to her that if she doesn't want to miss the bus she needs to wear them!

So this morning she left home wearing them proudly ( i think!)

Some new cards

A couple of cards i made these last few days.

The first card is made with Strawberry tea from Sugar Nellie.

And the second one is Laid Back Dude from Sugar Nellie.

This is the first time i've used the "Dude", Sarah bought it over a year ago.
Forgot to say, Sarah got her new glasses and she says she can see now, she even see me slimmer lol
She says she will be able to see the bus number now!

The image is from some stamps i won in the candy from Lindsay. She sent me some yummy embellish and stamps. Thank you Lindsay!

The papers are free, the flowers and die cut frame are from Karena who sent me a delicious package last week. Thank you Karena!

I need to concentrate on sewing now, i am gonna make more bags with the fabrics Karena sent me.

Still waiting for a sewing machine, i don't think santa is gonna bring me one so i'll have to look for one myself. I went on the yahoo group for recycling but i've had no success.

Vintage tag

This tag i think goes perfectly with the card i made yesterday.

I messed up the embossing on the butterfly, it was so small i couldn't hold it so i covered it entirely with the powder. I just wanted to emboss around.

The stamp and button on the ribbon is from Tatiana.

I did some stitching on the sides with some red thread.

Stamped some flourish on the book page and that's it!

Je pense que cette tag va parfaitement avec la carte precedente

J'ai fais une erreur en voulant embosser le papillon,je voulais juste faire les cotes mais c'etait si petit que je ne pouvais pas le tenir alors j'ai entièrement recouvert avec la poudre. Je voulais juste embosser autour.

Le timbre et le bouton sur le ruban est de Tatiana.

J'ai fait quelques coutures sur les côtés avec du fil rouge.

Estampé des flourish sur la page du livre et c'est tout!

A vintage card

There is something missing on this card, may be some bling on the bottom right corner.

I found the feather from an old hat that Sarah had for halloween.

It's made on Kraft card.

I ripped a page from an old book and stamped the dress form lightly with brown ink on the left side and stamped it again and propped it up on sticky foam.

I am very naughty, i should wear my glasses, everything is so blurry but i am too lazy to lift my arm to get them! I am slapping myself :)

The weather is very grey today so that's why the picture is blurry, might not be my eyes!

Sarah went to the optician, she says she is very short sighted, her numbers are over minus 4.

She wanted some designer frame but my purse can't afford it, i already had to pay £ 30.00 extra for some thin lenses instead of the thick one, we don't want her to look like she has huge eyes, lol

We'll get the glasses after Christmas.

She is excited to get some glasses, she tried her dad glasses as he is short sighed as well and she says she sees better although she needs stronger one.

I told her i am gonna save and buy her some designer one in six month when she has her next test.

Christmas card ( another one)

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday!

This one is for a lovely lady in my local library.

I've used a stamp given to me by Tatiana, the red "flowers" are from Sally and the frame is from Karena! Thank you girls!

I've done some stitching around the red paper.

I've decorated inside as well.

That's it really.

Today we are going to see the optician for Sarah. The spanish teacher rang me the other day and told me that Sarah had some difficulties reading from the board so she sat her at the front but it was the same, so she advised me to take her to the optician. Straight away i made an appointment.

I've noticed as well, when she reads a book, she put her nose right up on the pages and even when she is on the laptop her nose is next to the screen.

They probably gonna fit her with some glasses.

Cette carte est pour une jolie dame a ma librairie locale.

J'ai utilisé un timbre qui m'a été donnée par Tatiana, les "fleurs" rouge sont de Sally et le cadre est deKarena!

J'ai fait quelques coutures autour du papier rouge.

J'ai aussi décoré l'intérieur.

Aujourd'hui, nous allons voir l'opticien pour Sarah. Le professeur d'espagnol m'a téléphoné l'autre jour et m'a dit que Sarah a eu quelques difficultés de lire le tableau noir meme en etant assise devant! alors elle m'a conseillé de l'emmener à l'opticien. J'ai tout de suite pris rendez-vous.

J'ai remarqué aussi, quand elle lit un livre, elle met son nez dessus les pages et même quand elle est sur le portable son nez est à côté de l'écran.

Ils vont probablement l'équiper avec des lunettes.

This is the last of phone cover for Sarah's friend.

I also made some cards but didn't take pictures before they left this morning!

This is made with one of the table mat i got from poundland (4 for £ 1.00)

The fabric feels a bit like satin and has some swirly design on it.

I've added a pretty button to close it.

Some ribbon at the bottom and a charm ( guitar)

There is also some felt between the two layers of fabric so it's pretty cosy for the phone!

J'ai aussi fait quelques cartes, mais je n'ai pas pris de photos avant qu'elles partent ce matin!

Celui la est fait avec l'un des tapis de table que j'ai obtenu de Poundland (4 pour £ 1,00)

Le tissu ressemble un peu a du satin et a des swirls dessus.

J'ai ajouté un joli bouton pour le fermer.

Il ya aussi certains une piece de feutre entre les deux couches de tissu de sorte que c' est assez confortable pour le téléphone!

Some more cards and more phone covers!

I hope this is the last cards i make and the phone covers are going like mad!

And i must be boring you with them.

For this card i didn't colour the image but i've just added some glitter on the hat and jacket.

And this time everyone wanted some flowers on their cards so i had to oblige.

This one as well, no colours except a bit of chalk.

I found some table mats in poundland and i'm gonna use them for phone cover, they are red in colour.

For this cover i've added two loops at the back.

On this one i've added some beads at the bottom. I made a mistake and added an extra one on the right side.

My eyesight is getting bad! It tooks me hours or at least it felt like hours to put the thread through the needle, i was really stressing out. Even with my glasses! But also it's difficult for me to work at night, i see less than during the day. May be i should buy a special lamp to put on my table. Well... it's not gonna happen yet.

Sorry i am not translating into french this time...too tired.

BB cover

This is not the one i was supposed to post here, that one is gone last week to one of Sarah's friends.

So i made this one yesterday and now everyone wants one! So tonight i am finishing another one for her to take to school tomorrow.

This one is completely different, the opening is not the same and i made a loop for the person to use a key ring or to put it on the belt.

I've also added some beads.

Today i went out and bought some kitchen towels for £2,00 so i'm gonna make something with it because they are so pretty.

I don't know what yet, probably something to do with bags.

I should get back to work now if i want to finish the other cover! And i need to make two more cards.

Cards for Sarah's classmates

Ooohhh i felt like i was working in a factory since wednesday!

That day i made over a dozens cards for her friends and yesterday she wanted more.

I didn't even take pictures of all of them to show off here except this morning two of them and here they are.

I made them all very simple and all more or less the same layout.

For these 2 this morning i have added flowers, the other one don't have flowers but some pearls or bow with a bell.

I made these 2 between 6 and 7am this morning.

And she wants 5 or 6 more!!

I also made a BB cover for one of her friends and now everyone wants one, so i guess that this week-end is gonna be work, work, work, lol

I don't even have enough cards, i'll have to rummage through my things, see what i can come up with.

Ooohhh je sentais que je travaillais dans une usine depuis mercredi!

Ce jour-là j'ai fait plus d'une douzaines de cartes pour ses amies et hier, elle en voulait plus.

Je n'ai même pas pris de photos de chacune d'elles pour montrer ici, sauf ce matin, deux d'entre elles.

Elles sont toutes très simples et tous plus ou moins le meme layout.

Pour ces 2 ce matin, j'ai ajouté des fleurs, les autre n'ont pas de fleurs mais quelques perles ou un ribbon avec une cloche.

J'ai fait ces deux entre 6 et 7 heures ce matin.

Et elle en veut encore 5 ou 6!

J'ai aussi fait un telephone cover pour blackberry pour l'une de ses amies et maintenant tout le monde en veut un, donc je suppose que ce week-end va être travail, travail, travail, lol

Another phone holder and a scissors holder

I think i am gonna sell them on my folksy.

I've sold one bag at the week-end, my first sale! I was so excited.

As for the scissors holder, you can use bigger scissors, i just put in the first one i saw.

I've cut some flower shapes from the felt and stick them with a bead.

There is a piece of card between the dark green pieces of felt.

I've doubled the front as well.

Je crois que je vais vendre mes creations sur folksy. J'ai vendu un de mes sacs ce week-end. J'etais tellement contente!

Pour le petit sciseaux holder, j'ai ajoute un morceau de carte entre les deux morceaux de feutre vert pour que ce soit plus solide.

J'ai aussi redouble le devant.

Les sciseaux peuvent etre de differente taille, j'ai juste mis ce que j'avais sous la main.

J'ai decoupe des fleurs dans le feutre et ajoute avec une perle.

Hello everyone and happy Friday!

Quite grey and rainy here but i have no intention of going out so more crafting for me :)

Here is my latest card:

I wanted to do something feminine, with all the pink!

The image is from a mag, the papers from different packs.

I've done some stitching around the main paper, then added some old book pages on top, distressed with scissors and ink.

There is some lace and ribbon on top. I made the pin myself.

And then the bling. I wanted to add more but Sarah said it was enough and it would look ugly if i ever was to add more!!

I took the picture yesterday evening with the flash, so not really good.

I'll put another one to see if there is any difference

Je voulais faire quelque chose de féminin, avec de la couleur rose.

J'ai fait quelques coutures autour du papier principal, puis j'ai ajouté quelques pages d'un vieux livre , et j'ai distresse avec des ciseaux et de l'encre.

Il ya de la dentelle et un ruban sur le dessus. J'ai fait l'epingle moi-même.

Et puis, le bling. Je voulais en ajouter un peu plus mais Sarah m'a dit que c'était assez et ce serait laid si j'en rajoutais un peu plus!

J'ai pris la photo hier soir avec le flash, donc pas vraiment bon.

Card with dried flowers

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!
I got the flowers and leaves from a long time ago and forgot about them, until i got a book from the libray and there was some cards made with dried flowers.

Some of my petals kept their colours very well.

Voila longtemps que j'avais seche les feuilles et fleurs que vous voyez sur la carte mais je les avaient completement oublies! Jusqu'à ce que j'obtienne un livre de la bibliothèque sur des cartes faites avec fleurs sechees.
Certains de mes pétales ont gardé leurs couleurs très bien.

I had to stick the petals one by one.

I've added some pearls on top of some flowers and on the edge of the card.

I've also made some piercing on the pink card. Just made some swirls.

I hope you like it.

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!

I got the image from Marjanne a while back.

I think she is very cute but i forgot the name.

I coloured her with promarkers.

The papers are from "The Nitwits, Heavenly collection"

Free from a mag.

I have a lace border punch so i framed the image with it but i don't have the corners so i had to cut some bits and stick them on each corner so don't look too closely!

I've added a ribbon and attached a bell to it. It makes a lovely noise when you move the card.

Hello and happy Sunday!

I have a little Polka Doodles image to share today.

Isn't the image cute? I coloured her with my promarkers. There was a tutorial on the mag from where i got the stamps but i didn't have the same colours. I've added some lace and ribbon, and a snowflake.

I find my eyesight getting worse sometimes specially when i work during the night. Very difficult for me to see properly. So sometimes you can find some of my cards a bit wonky! Sorry!

The papers are Milton & Co.

I've also added some bling on the hat and shoes.

Jalil! the clown of the family. He always make me laugh. He wants to be a stand up comedian! lol

He asked me to clean the kitchen floor, which is a first for him, so i gave hime the mop but instead he asked me to take pictures of him half naked. So it was not the floor he was interested after all!

I told him to put more elbow grease into it but he is more interested to flex his muscles, lol!

On a more serious note, here is another Christmas card, made with some free stamps called, Scottie Dog, designed by Adam Pescott.

The papers were free too and they are " Milton & Co, Christmas paper pack.

They have some silky shine to it.

Can you believe i found the ribbon in the street a few month ago. It was lying there and completely clean!

Yes it was great and made a change for me and Sarah.

We have enjoyed our little nephew. He is so gorgeous!!!

He had a bit of a cold so he didn't feel too good.

Can you believe i forgot to take pictures of Adam with me. He was with Sarah and his mum but not with me!

Well i hope i see him again soon and this time it will only be me and Adam on the photos!

Again for my nephew and his parents of course.

I have embossed a piece of card with some small dots, then some stitches around some patterned paper.

I've made the cloud and plane myself.

Can't wait to go on saturday, very soon!

My next thing is a decorated kraft gift bag to put all these goodies inside.

Sock box

Made with an egg box.

The idea come from Marjanne, like i said before.

I bought some cute little socks! I forgot how cute it is and how small!

The only problem is that i can't put both socks in the holes cos i can't close the box!

But i am sure i'll find a way.

Oh nearly forgot. I made a bowl with some pieces of card and some brown paper used as plugs, and here what it looks like.

It took me about a minute to make it.

5 pieces of card, 30cm by 2cm. A hole at each end with some brown paper tightly rolled and fitted in the holes to hold the cards. You fan out the pieces and it makes a bowl!

Et voila!

Mini for Adam

For my little nephew who was born 2 weeks ago.

I made it quite simple as i was sick when i made it, there is no Wow factor.

I just hope his mum likes it.

I am also making an egg box that i will fill with socks, will post it later when it's finished.

A blurry peek at my new album

Very blurry as i took the pictures with my webcam.

But here it goes:

This image is going to be at the front of the album with some stitching around.

Trust me it looks better in real life!

I made it with some brown envelopes, folded one side of it to make the small pocket you can see on the left.

I have used different papers.

I have distressed with ink all around the envelopes. You can't even see it's been made with envelopes.

I'll post the album when it is finished, i have still 9 days to finish it until i go and see my nephew.

At the moment i don't feel like doing anything, the flu is bugging me :)

All i want is to stay in bed!

At Dutch Swappers we had to swap packets of ready made sauce or a mix of food.

My partners were Marijke and Chantal
They've received it today so i can post it.

I made a vintage looking card.

I think there are two girls as my partners but i am not sure as i don't understand dutch.

They like chicken and pasta, so i bought a packet to make with chicken.
I got the pictures on the net.
The chipboards from my stash.
Some images are from Tim Holtz that i just decoupage from a sheet of paper.
The little stamped lady inside was from a pack of stamps from Tanya, a lovely lady!

I made this card with an image sent by Marijke and Chantal from the swap

I couldn't take a proper picture as the batteries on my camera died and i am unable to go to the shop at the moment. So i took it with the webcam and had to hold it. As you can see it's not very clear.

I've done some stitching all around each paper.

The image has been coloured with promarkers.

This time we had to swap some pack of sauce mix for meat or vegetables or even dessert.

I have received mine so i can show it and i think it's gorgeous.

My partners were Marijke and Chantal. It looks like two people on the blog so i assume it's Marijke and Chantal.

I am cooking my chicken in the sauce tonight, so i'll take a picture before it's all eaten.

I am not gonna open it, i'll keep it for Christmas, i am sure it's delicious.

It's a decorated lunch bag, i think it's a great idea.

I love the embellishments too.

They even translated the recipe for me. I must say i am a bit ashamed because i didn't translate in Dutch for them.

Handmade Christmas Wreath

Made with recycled toilet rolls.

Each one cut into 4 parts.

I found the tutorial somewhere, so when i find it i will put the link for anyone wishing to make the same.

I've used about six toilet rolls.

You just stick them in a row until you get the size you want.

It can be small or huge. Mine is medium size.

I made the flowers with some tissue papers, scrunched them up and added a brad with a white flower in the middle and then glued them on the wreath.

I've also added some little baubles and some small pine cones.

To finish, a big ribbon that was in my stash since last year.

And a bell at the top.

Christmas card

My cards are becoming very rare now that i spend my time sewing and stitching!

I am making some IPods covers at the moment with some fleece.

Here is one for Christmas

Very simple.

I made it with a free stamp from a mag but can't remember the name.

The paper is from "My mind's eye"

I've cut the scallop border by hand and distressed it with ink to hide the wobbly bits.

But the scallop is irregular.

Some bling here and there et voila!

Very easy.

My first 3D quilling doll

Don't be too hard on me, it's only my first time!

The hardest part was to make the tiny roses on the hat. It's quite difficult, you need small fingers and mine are not that small!

She is supposed to wear a dress, hope you can see it.

I made her a hat with a pearl on top and some roses around.

I haven't found any tutorial on the net yet but i found some pictures on google so i took note of some of the dolls and tried to replicate some of them. So there is a bit of all of them.

To make her stand up i made some shapes on a card and it was easier then to make it stay upright.

She also has some roses at her feet.

This is the back.

It measures approximately 9 cm or 3 1/2 inches with the stand

Edited: Some bloggers were wondering how long it took me, i'd say between 2 and 3 hours without a break! But you don't see the time pass when you do something you like.

Skirt turned into a bag

I found this skirt in my charity shop for £1.50 and found the fabric quite pretty to turn it into a bag.

I cut it on the side. Left the lining inside.

And the handles come from an old bag.

I've added some pretty buttons. I think they are mother of pearl or is it Nacre. They are really shiny and change colour in the light.

I made a bow and a closure with the rest of the lining.

This is a roomy bag.

Sorry i can't remember the name of the stamp, i got it free with a mag.

Some of the papers are my mind's eye the rest from my stash.

I cut the frames and the stars by hand.

The rest is from my stash.

I've added some glitter on the stars.

A little peek at my new bag!

Edited OK because nobody seems to be coming to my other blog i am gonna post here.

So here it is:

The handles are made with a chain.

There is lace all around outside and inside.

The flower has been made with the same lace and a pretty button on top.

Inside has been lined with a pink recycled pillow case and i've added a small pocket.

The bag measures approximately 17 cm high and 25 cm wide. The handle is about 12 cm.

It took me 4h30mn to make this bag, without counting the breaks.

Yes one more but if you want to see it whole you will have to go on my other blog. The link is there on the right side.

I'll be posting soon on my Nouvelle Vague blog :)

I am also selling it on folksy. I think this one is the best of the best! lol

Quilled Iris

Another quilling card. This time it's a flower, an Iris.

I tried to follow the tutorial on the book but it didn't end up exactly the same. Plus i've added some of my own.

I didn't understand fully all of it but i think it came out pretty good.

The border is called a japanese style border.

The next thing i want to learn is to make some 3D dolls with the quilling papers. I've already tried to make a body but i need more practice and some more tutorial, which is difficult to find on the net.

A bit early for christmas but i am getting ready!

I made the snowflake with some quilling papers.

I didn't exactly follow the tutorial on the magazine and i made my own.

I even added some longer papers at the corners of the snowflake.

It was difficult to take a picture, today is very grey and a bit rainy.

I love this quilling business, it's so fun to do!

I am making another bag again, totally different too. I am making good use of the fabrics i found.

Like Caroline said if i had a sewing machine i think my sitting room would be a factory and i would be non-stop sewing! lol

On this one i tried to hide the stitching so it looks more professional.

I am very happy with it and i am selling it on Folksy for £15.00. What do you think of the price, it's not too much? I've done lots of work on it and with lots of love!

The shape is different from the other bags.

The only part i am not happy with is on the side where the label is, the stitching are showing..

But then again i am a perfectionist!

My fingers are hurting bad with all this sewing. Can't wait for Santa to bring me a machine!

A smaller bag

Yes i know another one!

But this one is cute and small, more like a little handbag. It measures 20cm by 24 cm, well approximately.

I intend to sell all the bags i make from now on on my folksy store.

I realise that the more i make the more i get better and oh you haven't seen the last one! I love it, it is so cute. Took me a while to design it. Will post it when it's finished.

Here is the one before last :))

This is the front of the bag with a huge button that came from an old coat.

This is the bag open. Took me over an hour to sew the hole for the button, the fabric kept fraying, but now it's good.

This is the back of the bag. I just added a little fabric flower that came from Patti.

And inside, lined with some great fabric.

I made another one and a bit bigger than the first one and with the same material!

I even did some stitching all along the strap. Took me quite a while to do it and my fingers are hurting!

I've added some lace around like the other bag, some buttons on each side and a flowers made with a recycled part of a jeans.

This is my last bit of fabric for this one, may be just enough for a purse.

I found some more fabric in my charity shop so i'll be making more bags.

I haven't made a card for a while, the last one was for Saskia, Marjanne's daughter.

I don't feel like making one at the moment.

Today i made a much smaller bag with some new fabric, quite cute. Will post it tomorrow

You must be fed up of my bags!

I've just had an idea!

I am putting my bag up as a candy and other cute things i made like the lavender cushion.
You can read all about the bag in the previous post.

I've done some modification on the handles and covered them with the same fabric, i didn't like anymore the linen one. Here it is:

I am trying to put another picture but it's not working. I wanted to show you what you are going to get but never mind, it will be a surprise.

It's slightly smaller than the other one and it's shoulder bag.

There is some elasticated lace around so it makes the bag wavy at the top.

I even made a pocket with a ribbon and a button.

Inside is lined as well.

Tote bag

Made this bag in two days and all sewing by hand!

I got the fabric from my charity shop. There was a basket full of different fabrics, all around 1 metre by 50cm.

Most of them were probably fabrics for curtains.

I've got another one, cream with blue flowers that Sarah wants me to transform into a bag.

I need to go back to the shop before it's all gone and each one were 50 pence! What a bargain.

My bag is worth 50 pence! And then i found another fabric ideal for the lining.

Once finished i added some green ribbon all around and then some pompoms over it. And then, i decided to stick some bows with a button under each handle.

When i say my bag is worth 50 pence, i think it's priceless with all the work done to it and the time spent for sewing.
The size is just over 30cm by 30cm, not counting the handles

Oh nearly forgot, the handles have been made with a recycled skirt that i hardly wore. It's made of linen so it is strong. And i even added a label from a ribbon that Tatyana gave me.

Don't look too close! It's not perfect but it's made with love!

A card made with the back cover of a magazine. It was an advert from a craft company.

I've cut the pictures around and that's it.

I also wanted to make a side step card but i completely forgot how to make them so i cut my A4 in half, the long way, and stuck one half to the other half and made some steps with the rest.

And that's it really, very easy.

Sarah wants to keep it in her room.

Not much crafting at the moment, i am savouring the free time i have, with Sarah gone to school.

Special birthday card

This card has been made for Saskia, Marjanne's daughter.

She left France for the USA to study there for one year and her birthday is on the 21st september.

Marjanne asked us to send her a card.

I wanted to make something unique so that when she open the envelope she says Wow! lol

I really hope she likes it. It's a bit shabby chic. I am sure she is like her mum and likes vintagey cards.

Another birdcage, you gonna say but yes i like them.

As you can see there is stitching all around. ( By hand)

I've used some white fabric to stamp on it and i have used some ink and cosmic shimmer mist to colour it.

I have cut the cage from the same fabric and used a different colour then stitched it on the other fabric. I then used some pollyfill to fill the inside of the cage.

I've added some black beads at the bottom with some other ones dangling.

A little tag with happy birthday.

Inside has been decorated as well but not so elaborate, cos i was a bit tired after all this stitching and planning! lol

Everything is quite secure as it is stitched on card and then glued to the main card.

Oriental birdcage!

I found a picture of a birdcage on the net, so i saved it and decided to reproduce it on paper but it didn't turn out exactly the same. First i had to draw every detail and i had to cut it by hand with a craft knife. So imagine how long it took me to cut every hole!

Then i glued it on some cream card.

I then drew a line with a white pen around each aperture, i think it hides a few mistakes.

Then i drew and cut the bird as well and the circle for the sentiment, oh and the black leaves.

I like it when i do everything by hand, i feel satisfied ( does it sound weird?)

Then i made some flowers (roses) with a quilling tool. Cut long pieces of DP and rolled it on my tool.

There is stitching all around the paper. The whole thing is stuck to some brown card.

A few pearl and rhinestones et voila!

Inside is decorated as well but very simple. After all the cutting i didn't feel like adding too many things inside.

Little froggy

I got the stamp free with a mag.

The papers are also from a mag.

I have cut the window with a craft knife. You would think the frog is inside the card but it's not. The window is on pop ups.

It took me while to cut all around. That was the hardest part, the rest was easy!

On another note.

I am very proud of Joseph, my son, he got his GCSE's and got A, B and C in 10 subjects!

He is going college on thursday start his new course, i forgot the name, something to do with art and graphic design.

Sarah is starting as well at high school, so my life is gonna be empty now, i need to do something. Or i find myself a job or i go to college as well and continue my computer course and then find a job. It's never too late.

I got some vintage images that feel like postcards in my craft shop but i can't remember the name of it. I have a habit of throwing packages!

I've used some papers from a mag and some from an old book.

The flowers are from Tatyana.

I made the photo corner myself.

The inside is decorated as well.

Again the picture is not perfect, i am unable to fix it properly, may be i should get another program.

I've done some stitching around each paper.

Made the birdcage myself with some thick card and as you can see it's a bit wobbly.

I then embossed it with some holographic embossing powder.

I've added a door so the bird could perch on it :)

Then some beads on each corner at the bottom.

I messed up the piece of card for the greeting so to hide it i slide it under the cage but you still can see it :-(

Inside is decorated as well with the same stitching.

Altered bag

It's a shopping bag bought for £1.00 at Poundland.

It was a bit plain so i decided to jazz it up.

Ok, i took a picture of before but i lost it.

So here it is transformed

I made the flowers with felt. Made 4 circles, folded in half and then joined together, i 'm not sure i am explaining right.

Then i added the crocheted flowers from Sally with some buttons. At the bottom i made the swirls with some... oh i forgot the name, i have a headache coming!

A bow at the top with a charm, et voila!

I think i will add some lace or ribbon along the blue denim.

Shadow box swap

Here is the box i made for Jacqueline my swap partner.

Again it's been made with some cereal boxes.

The red flower has been made by myself, the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I heat embossed the pink swirly thingy.

And some pompoms all around.

Inside is a crocheted hat, a mini spool sent to us by Lisette and i added some pearls on top.

I forgot the name of the finger thingy.

Some buttons and some hanging beads hanging to look like a lamp.

Oh and some recycled lace at the back.

The ring pull is recycled from a necklace.

I forgot to take pictures of the card and tag i sent Jacqueline. She said she will post it on tuesday.

I am so critical of my work, i never find it good enough. I always find other crafters work so much better.
And that's what is happening with this box. I am not happy, i keep saying to myself i shoud have done this and that, etc...

Sweet card

A card that took me most of the day.

First there was the stitching all around each paper.

Then i made a heart from carboard and heat embossed it with some chunky powder.

The "Oh so sweet" image is from a mag.

I've added some lace and ribbon at the bottom and a bow with button at the top which i coloured with my promarker then added some glossy accent and i made the mistake of heating it with my gun and produced some bubbles! So i added some embossing powder on top.

The flowers are made of foam with glitter on top.

The rhinestones are from Tatyana!

I've decorated inside, very simple as you can see.

I think Christmas came early for me!

I can't stop saying Wow!! I have received a package from my dear friend Tatyana, you can find her blog HERE

I am so excited as you can see, i don't get many presents in my life.

I'm gonna cherish this mini for ever and ever! lol

My birthday

Yes it's today!

Another year gone and still feeling 18 at least in my head lol

Here as usual nobody's remembered and so nothing has been done. I tried to leave some hints but their heads must be in clouds!

I think i'll make myself a card and will display it so that everyone can see it and may be just may be they will see it !

Oh never mind, i have lots of wishes from my blogging friends.

It's amazing how they remember things, do they keep a diary or something? :))

We are swapping some shadow boxes and my partner is Jacqueline, this one is not for her but for myself. I liked it so much that i had to do one for me.

This is a huge one made with a cereal box. I also made a shelf with some thick card.

There is 2 normal bobins thread and a mini one sent by Lisette.

I've added some pearls on top of them.

I made a manequin with some cardboard and covered it with some lace and ribbon.

The back of the box is covered with lace, i wanted it to look like some curtains.

I even added some sort of hanging pearls to look like a lamp.

There is some buttons, pearls, pins etc...

The handle is made with a huge button found in my charity shop.

This card has been made with papers from a mag. The decoupage as well.

I just added some buttons and pearls.

I've been busy making a shadow box for a swap. I tried to replicate it on a smaller scale but my mojo isn't there.

And i had to do it with some cereal boxes as i couldn't find the size i wanted.

Yesterday i bought a beginner quilling kit for really cheap.

This morning i made my first card with it.

The flowers tutorial is not in the kit but i remembered what i saw one day on youtube; a tutorial about how to make flowers with some ribbon and i was thinking i should be able to make the same with the quilling paper.

Very easy to make! Et voila!

The sun has disappeared today contrary to yesterday which was quite hot and sunny.

I am not sure if the name Elizabeth Bell is right. Anyway, this image has been in my stash for a while.

The glue under the pearls is not even dried yet!

My last card as GDT for Craft your Passion challenge blog.

I'm gonna miss it, who am i gonna work for?! :))

I've used Papermania papers. The red paper looks more orange than red.

Plus i didn't feel that Christmassy so it was a bit of a challenge for me.

I've used Sally's crochet flowers ( Thanks Sally!)

I didn't have my promarkers at the time i coloured the image, so it's felt tip pens.

I've added some glitter on the ground and somne rhinestones on the falling snowflakes.

Another lavender pillow

Made with the same felt i've used before but still looks red, i don't know why.

I've added some beads on top, then a button that looks like a coffee bean.

Some pompoms and a ribbon attached at the back with another button.

The lavender is so strong that i had to put all my pillows in some cellophane bags.

I have received my promarkers today and i am so happy! Now i need to have a look at some tutorial to learn some colouring techniques.

Good morning everyone!

It's time for a new challenge at Craft Your Passion and our theme is "Text it",

(use text somewhere on your project)

This week prize is 4 images of winner's choice from either Coco Dingo or Lauretta shop

I was given a digi to use from CocoDingo.

I coloured it with some promarkers that i have left and the rest with some felt tip pens. But never fear! I am getting 15 Promarkers very soon just by subscribing to a mag, so i am very happy!
The papers are from a mag and the sentiment has been handwritten.

This is my third week as Guest designer for Craft your Passion challenges. I wish it didn't have to end soon and that i could stay with them. I have applied to be part of the team so keep your fingers crossed for me!

For the past few weeks i have been very good by not adding too many embellish on my cards. Sometimes less is better.

Lavender pillow

I am adding two more heart pillows to my collection.
The first one is made with a recycled pillowcase.
The second one with pink felt and pillowcase around.
They haven't got lavender in it as i am waiting for some new one, it should be coming today. The lavender i put in the first one was a bit old so i took it out and will fill it up with some new one when it arrives.
I am gonna sell these heart on my folksy shop.

This is weird as the colour in the picture came out red when in fact the felt is purple!

May be because the background is blue.

I've used purple felt, then on top a piece of recycled pillowcase and on top of that a recycled hairband.

A piece of ribbon with a button from a charity shop and some pompoms all around.

Inside is some lavender, it smells so lovely!

I am making another one with some pink felt and another piece of pillowcase.

I've drawn the sun and doodles around myself, the flower stamp came free with a mag.

I've added some pink ink around and blue ink around the sun.

There is some glossy accent on the flowers and sun.

I just gave myself a test to see if i could do something simple and not fill every corner!

I found it inspiring and tried to reproduce one but i can't seem to finish it, i still need to decorate inside but every time i tried to finish it i have a blank!

Very fiddly to get the fake pages to interlock and i didn't put as many fold as the tutorial, i found it too bulky, so i reduced them.

It really look like a book when it is closed.

Just need to finish it!

Here is my card as guest designer at Craft your Passion for this week. I created the card using Coco Dingo's cute image.

My dad used to have one of these cars and i can tell you they are not very comfortable, every time we had a ride in it we used to bounce from side to side, and up an down. Probably because the suspension was not that good.
I find this image very cute! I've done some stitching all around the paper.
I had to colour the image with my daughter's felt tip pens as my promarkers were dying on me.
Wrote the sentiment myself.
And added a piece of rope on top et voila!

Sock Doggy or Doggy sock

As you can see my cards are rare at the moment, as i am into sewing but don't despair monday a new card will be posted for my first time as guest designer for Craft your Passion!

While waiting, here is a little doggy made with a sock. Don't come too close because my stitching is not perfect! And it's my first one.

It looks more like a donkey than a dog!

Made his tail with a ribbon, his ears with some lacy coasters from poundland folded in half.

Some buttons for his nose and eyes. And a ribbon for collar.

I'll get better as i make some more.

I was wearing a black trousers and black t-shirt when i was filling my sock with polyfill when i finished i realised that i was covered in fluff all over!

Delicious and without the fat, enjoy as many as you want, you won't gain any weight!

This one was my first one

The base is a made with a silicone cup, the one you cook them in.

Then i made a second one, a funky one

The ribbon around is black, with some gold chain and some yellow beads.

With a red bead in the middle

The last one is all blue, with blue ribbon around, some white buttons with a pearl each on top and a lovely blue button on top

My favourite is the one at the front.

Cuddle cup for Chester

I don't know what's happening to me, i am right into sewing now, me who used to hate it!

Must be a passing phase unless it's here to stay for good?

This is a cuddle cup made for Chester our guinea pig.

At first i bought a small dog's mat at poundland, you can see it under the cuddle cup, it's dark blue and he loved it, he was so excited when he saw it but then that same day i decided to make a cuddle cup, i think that's what they are called.

It took me a couple of hours.

It's made with an old bath towel and some old duver cover. It's more comfortable than my bed!

I can say that Chester loves it, i found him sleeping in it this morning.

It took some lettuce leaves to show him the way and once in it you couldn't move him from it!

I think i am gonna do some cupcake pin cushions for next, you wait and see!

Delicate " Roses" Drawstring bag

Made this bag from recycled pillowcase, although the pillowcase is quite new, from my charity shop and was in the bag. The lining is from one of my table cloth that i never used and the lace around is from that same table cloth.

The size is 28 cm tall and 21 cm diameter.

Every stitches has been done by hand cos as you know i don't have a sewing machine.

It took me over 7 hours to make it. I didn't even have a template, i just made it on top of my head!

The bottom has been gathered in the middle and i added a big button covered with the same fabric. I don't know what you call the pink fabric all around the bottom, there is some sort of string inside, i know there is a name for it but my brain is not working!

Anyway, the bag can be very useful to put your knitting inside and it can stand up.

I am quite proud of myself, i have never done this sort of project before and i hate sewing but i don't know what came over me!
There is some slight mistakes but it's not perfect because it's handmade!

Of course if i had a machine i am sure it would have taken me half the time or even less.

Elizabeth Bell card

A card i made over a week ago but decided to post it today!

In fact i completely forgot to post it.

The flowers are from wild orchid crafts, had them for a while now.

I coloured the seam binding ribbon with some food colouring and let it dry in the sun. The sun who's been hiding for a couple of days now, i hope he will come back soon.

If i remember i got the images from Patti over a year ago and use them only now! I need time to realise they are in my stash :)

The inside has been decorated as well but i didn't take a pic.

Babushka dolls

I made these dolls from a template in a mag. They are made with felt. I didn't have any red so i had to use purple.

I wanted to make only one but now i am at my third one, i can't stop, it's so much fun to make!

The first one is for my niece and the second one is for Sarah.

I don't know yet where the third one is gonna go.

I messed up a bit the first one, the one with the yellow hair, cos i added the beads after i stuffed it so they are a bit wonky!

They are so cute don't you think?

Probably the last post for now. I won't probably post for a while as i am quite fed up with blogger,still not able to leave comments on your blogs. The only one i can leave comments is on Vicky's blog!

This is the card i made for my favourite cafe owner for the box he gave me.
I got the flower template a long time ago but didn't use it until now.
I've used DMC threads.
Inside of the card is decorated as well.

I also made for him a note box. Inside are 5 note cards.

I don't know if i am gonna keep the wordpress blog as it is not very attractive and there isn't a way for people to follow me.
I am very disappointed in blogger, the problem should have been resolved by now!

A card for Dawniy, my blogging friend!

To thank her for the socks she sent me, she made them herself, she is very good!
I wish i could knit like that. They are comfortable and they fit perfectly!

She received the card yesterday so i can post it.

I forgot to take picture of the inside!

I also want to thank someone very kind who gave me this beautiful box!

He is the boss of an italian cafe in my area ( Carshalton), Grazie Mille.

At first i thought he was joking cos the box was on display for sale in the cafe with a Panetone ( sorry for the spelling) inside and i was asking the lovely waitress what was inside. He then came and said: "I eat what's inside and you get the box," so i said yes and then he started opening the box and said i could get it,

Wow you can imagine how happy i was! ( i know i don't need much)

This box is gorgeous and has a vintage feel. Plus the top is 3D and it's big!

How can you not be in love with this box!

Oh and inside smells lovely!

He said Sarah could put her socks inside, lol but no way!

I haven't decided yet what to put inside but probably my crafting bits.

So a huge Thank you to these two lovely persons!

Criss-cross card

This is Sugar Nellie's picking apples from Elisabeth Bell. These stamps have been discontinued so they are getting rare.

I made the big blue flowers.

The pearl is attached to the ribbon with some thread.

The tag was not supposed to look like this, i messed up the first one and had to do a second one.

It should have paper covering it but at the end decided it was better like this.

Views from the sides

Normally in a criss cross card it's not supposed to have inside as there is already the tag but i said why not! More space for writing.

Yes i know, i've mixed green and blue, but me likey!

Vintage Baby card

I wanted to make a baby card but at the last minute i couldn't find the image i wanted so i have used Melissa frances image and it turned into a vintage card.

The sentiment has been written by hand.

The papers are a mix of different packs plus the music sheet.

I'll post the inside of the card later cos the batteries in my camera are dead!

Door hanger

Sarah wanted one so i made one!

I've used Forever Friends papers and image.

I couldn't find the letters i wanted so it's a bit mixed up and i've added some white dots on each letter.

I couldn't even find an H so instead i've cut a B and joined it with a half letter N

Instead of making holes at the top i have used some clips and a chain.

I made the flowers myself. and no i don't use any dies or machine. :))
In fact they are from poundland and i just stick them together to make some sort of roses.
Sarah hasn't seen it yet because i finished it this morning and it's hanging on the wall and then i completely forgot to tell her cos she decided to do some maths and then english, it's just now that i have a bit of freedom so i'll probably tell her soon :)
I am entering this project into Toptip tuesday challenge which is "One for the kids" any project for a child.

Wedding card

My attempt at making a wedding card.

I don't make many of these cards, i rarely have the excuse to do one.

I made the flowers myself.

I found these gorgeous doilies in the poundshop but you can only see the outside of it.

I also made a heart but it's too hard to see as it is covered with the flowers.

There is stitching at the front and inside the card

I made the card myself but the drawing was made by Sarah.

I think she is very good. She made me a little cow as well that i will use to make a card later

She wants to be a graphic designer when she grows up!

I've used "Forever Friends" papers, spring time i think it's called.

I've coloured the image with promarkers and i noticed they are getting a bit dry,i hope they last me a bit more, it's so expensive to replace.

Sarah wanted me to make it simple. I told her can i add some flowers on this corner? No!

Can i add more candi? No

Can i add more rhinestones? No!

She was getting annoyed because she knows i like to fill every corner but it was gonna be her card!

I made some white dots on the candis and that's all i could do, lol

Envelope card

On Sue's advice i'm gonna enter this card into two challenges, first:
PaperPlay challenge which is "Show us your style".
I would say my style is vintage. I'd love to make more vintage cards but i don't have many pictures.
and
By the Cute and Girly challenge which is "Anything goes".
And after Patrizia's advice i will try to show a tuto how i made this card later this week.

This card has been made with two envelopes.

I should have taken pictures of the envelopes but i forgot.

I got the idea from Marjanne but she made it a bit different, with one long envelope.

So here is the card

I've added some cards under the papers to make it stronger.

There is two openings at each end with tags inside.

I've used two vintages images.

The stamps inside say: Tempus fugit, not really sure what it means but a wild guess: time flies?

Like we need to remind ourselves how much, time goes so fast!

There is an extra tag inside for extra writing :)

The crochet flowers are from Sally, with some old buttons from my charity shop.

Here it is. I took the pictures very early this morning so the light is not ideal.

I've done some stitching all over. ( by hand)

My new teddy!

I got it free from a mag.

He is called tatty teddy.

I got some new papers from "Forever friends", really nice papers, double sided.

I made the flowers with some candi.

You stick one candi upside down on a piece of card and you keep sticking candis all around until you get the flower you want, you can make it even bigger so you need a bigger piece of card, depending on your tastes.

I didn't make mine too big.

The inside is decorated as well.

The colours didn't come out good. My son pinched my batteries while i was having a nap, so i was using some old one and that's why may be the colours are not right. I tried to fix it but not very successful.

A lili of the valley image but i can't remember the name, it's in my next room but i am too lazy to get up and find out!

The papers are "My mind's eye", the ribbon is seam binding that coloured with red food colouring and dried in the sun. I didn't put too much red and mixed it with water so that it came out pink.

Flowers from local craft shop and some handmade.

A metal corner from Wild orchid crafts.

There is some photo corners around the image, painted green and white dots added

I have decorated the inside to compliment the front of the card.

I am not too sure about the colour of the dress, may be i should change it to green.
